Kurt Angle Says Cedric Alexander Had Heat With Vince McMahon For Over Half A Year
Cedric Alexander has had an up and down time on Monday Night Raw since being moved full time from 205 Live. The former Cruiserweight Champion was thrust into the spotlight on Raw even scoring a shock upset over Drew McIntyre. Then, for whatever reason, Alexander faded into the background until this past summer when Alexander joined The Hurt Business.
Now Alexander is back in business, one half of the Raw Tag Team Champions and featured prominently on Raw weekly, but it took a while to get back on track. One person had feared he killed his WWE career, and that was Kurt Angle.
Kurt Angle talked about Cedric on his Kurt Angle Show podcast, where he revealed Cedric had some heat with Vince for not doing something McMahon had wanted him to do. Alexander turned it down, and wound up being punished and lost in the shuffle on the main roster. It was bad enough that Angle was convinced Cedric’s career was over.
“You look at what they have been doing with Alexander, the Hurt Business. You know, he got in a little trouble last year. He didn’t do something that Vince wanted him to do, and you know, if you don’t listen to your boss, things could get a little bit, you know, depressing for you, and he didn’t listen the one night, and they scolded him for a good half-year before they started using him again, and rightfully so, he should have listened. That is his job, it’s to listen to Vince and do what Vince tells you to do, and he didn’t do that. So, I thought, ‘Wow, this kid’s career is over,’ you know, when that happened, and Vince eventually gave him another chance.”
Alexander has made the most of this second chance, and it seems like he’s doing well on this run. Thankfully, he almost got a second chance after upsetting The Chairman.
