More Details On Rush And Dragon Lee’s ROH Contracts
Earlier this week, Ring of Honor announced they had inked Rush, Dragon Lee, and Bestia del Ring to new deals. It’s a renewal for Rush and Dragon Lee, while their father Bestia is now inked following his debut at Final Battle back in December. Now we have new details on their deal, which sheds some light on how much RoH values the group.
WrestleZone has reported that Masked Republic took part in the negotiations on behalf of Rush and Dragon Lee, which was reported in January. The duo had been signed to merchandising contracts by the group and now their new contracts include provisions to allow them to do these outside merchandise deals with groups like Masked Republic. The site reported their initial offer from Ring of Honor was a basic contract normally offered to talent, but the final one negotiated includes these third-party deals.
The site also reported that the new contracts signed also now work to have them expiring at the same time. We had reported the duo of Rush and Lee were close for over a month, but the hold up was Dragon Lee’s contract expired December 31st, 2020 while Rush’s expired January 31st, 2021. Lee wound up signing an extension so the duo could have their contracts begin on the same date with the same provisions. Their contracts will now expire at the same time as well.
As far as Bestia del Ring goes, it’s said his contract is a per-appearance deal, and it does not feature the same terms as his sons. It’s a huge move to now have their World and Television Champions once again locked down to new deals. Earlier this week, they also locked down their La Faccion Ingobernable stablemate Kenny King.
