Sammy Guevara’s now-canceled Impact Wrestling appearance has been the talk of the wrestling news world today. Guevara’s issues with his creative plans created issues that eventually caused him to be pulled from the appearance. Many people wondered if his behavior would cause a rift between the two promotions that had just started to work together. Now we have a little answer.
PWInsider has reported that the issues did not damage relationships between the companies. They were told the partnership is still “golden” despite Guevara’s behavior.
While that relationship is golden, Guevara’s relationship with AEW might have its share of issues. Guevara has had a history of backstage issues in AEW this year, with a suspension of remarks made about Sasha Banks, and a “very stern talking to” involving a chair spot with Matt Hardy. While Guevara hasn’t seemingly suffered a full burial over his behavior, this is something that could have done a lot of damage diplomatically and politically with the partnership between multiple companies. Hopefully Guevara has learned his lesson.
