Millie McKenzie has reportedly signed with WWE’s NXT UK brand, the news was first reported by Alex McCarthy of Talk Sport earlier today.
Millie McKenzie (20) is one of the most highly rated women’s wrestler on the UK scene, she has made appearances for NXT UK during it’s early days, even competing in the inaugural tournament to crown the first NXT UK women’s champion, unfortunately being eliminated in the first round by Jinny.
Millie McKenzie was an integral part of the British speaking out movement, having been one of the first women to come forward with allegations of abuse at the hands of former NXT UK performer Travis Banks. It is being reported that the reason Millie McKenzie had not previously signed with NXT UK was due to the fact Banks was signed to the brand. Now that the WWE have fired him and other stars in an attempt to address the speaking out movement, it would seem that Millie McKenzie now feels comfortable signing with the UK brand.
Millie McKenzie is another in long list of recent signings for NXT UK that include; Rampage Brown, Sha Samuels, Ben Carter and Meiko Satomura. Satomura could be another reason for Millie signing with NXT UK, the new NXT UK trainer has a history with McKenzie who has also competed in Japan for Satomura’s promotion Sendai Girls.
Millie McKenzie will be part of Progress Wrestling’s return to action on the 20th of February on the WWE Network and Demand Progress where she is set to face Mercedez Blaze.
