A Look At All 8 Competitors In Progress Wrestling Natural Progression Series – Preview and Prediction
British Wrestling promotion Progress recently announced that they will be returning to action with Chapter 104 on Saturday the 20th February. The show will feature the first round of Progress’ Natural Progression Series. The Natural Progression Series Tournament highlights some of the best young British Independent talents, top UK stars such as Zack Gibson, Will Ospreay, Mark Andrews, “Flash” Morgan Webster and “Wild boar” Mike Hitchman have all competed in the Natural progression series.
This year’s series will feature 8 of the UK’s Independent Scene top young talent including Danny Black, Big Gun Joe, Man Like Dereiss, Ethan Allen, Elijah, Luke Jacobs, Warren Banks and Kid Lykos II.
Danny Black
A graduate of Kuncklelocks Wrestling Academy, Danny Black only has four years experience as a pro wrestler, Black started his career with IPW and was a regular at Battle Pro Wrestling in London. Black has only competed once for Progress Wrestling in dark match at chapter 94 Physician Heal Thy Self where he defeated Rex Armstrong on pre show, Black also competed for Ambush Pro Wrestling, IWL and Pro Wrestling Soul.
Prediction: First Round Elimination
Big Gun Joe
Big Gun Joe made a name for himself in Manchester and North West area of England, spending time in the Fighting Spirit Wrestling Academy, mainly competing for Future Shock Wrestling. Joe has been a 4 year pro and has held titles for Breed Pro Wrestling and GPW, Joe has competed some of top UK promotions including BWR, TNT Extreme, NGW, IPW and Southside Wrestling Entertainment.
Prediction: First Round Elimination
Kid Lykos II
Kid Lykos II started life as promising young wrestler Joe Nelson before inheriting the Kid Lykos mantle from the original Lykos after he retired in 2019. Another competitor from the north west region starting his career with 4th Generation wrestling, Kid Lykos II has held titles for Breed Pro Wrestling, Attack Pro Wrestling, Hope Wrestling and TNT Extreme. Kid Lykos II has competed for several of the UK’s top independent promotions and has the most pedigree going in to the Natural Progression series.
Prediction: Semi-finalist
Warren Banks
Based in the Midlands, Banks started his career with Hope Wrestling in Nottingham, Banks is one of the biggest competitors in this years Natural Progression series. Banks has held several titles with Hope Wrestling becoming the promotion’s franchise player as well as competing at Sacrifice Pro Wrestling. Banks has 4 years experience, making appearances for Wrestle Island, IPW and Southside Wrestling Entertainment.
Prediction: Winner
Elijah
A graduate of the Dragon Pro Academy in Wales, Elijah has wrestled in the South West of England and Wales, competing mainly for “Flash” Morgan Webster and “Wild Boar” Mike Hitchman’s Dragon Pro and Pete Dunne’s Attack Pro Wrestling. Elijah has held titles for Dragon Pro and Vertigo Pro Wrestling, he’s competed for promotions such as Fight Club Pro and Tidal Wrestling. Elijah also played a main role in Charles Crowley’s Cordially invited.
Prediction: Finalist
Luke Jacobs and Ethan Allen (Young Guns)
Luke Jacobs and Ethan Allen are collectively known as the tag team Young Guns. Based primarily in Manchester and the North Westof England, mainly competing for Future Shock Wrestling, where they currently hold the Tag Team titles. Luke Jacobs and Ethan Allen have more experience as a tag team than they do as single competitors although the two have faced off against each other in wXw Germany. As a tag team the two have competed for Progress Wrestling and TNT Extreme among others.
Prediction: The two will face each other in the first round, Luke Jacobs will be eliminated in the first round, with Ethan Allen will being eliminated in the Semi-Finals.
Man Like DeReiss
Based in the area of Worcester, Man Like DeReiss has made an appearance on NXT UK and he was a main stay of Defiant wrestling prior to them shutting down. DeReiss is tag team champion for Pete Dunne’s Attack Pro Wrestling as part of the FCP tag team champions alongside Dan Moloney. DeReiss may only have 3 years experience but he has gained a reputation for himself after performing for promotions such as BWR, IPW, NGW and Southside Wrestling Entertaniment.
Prediction: First Round Elimination.
The Natural Progression Series kicks off on the 20th of February and will be available on the Progress On Demand streaming service Demand Progress and the WWE Network from 8pm GMT. No mater the results this is sure to be an excellent tournament that will feature some top draw wrestling matches.
