Indi Hartwell Says Working With Johnny Gargano And Candice LeRae Makes Her Better
Late last year, Indi Hartwell began getting featured in a major way on NXT as she became the “adopted daughter” of the Garganos, helping them as they slowly began creating The Way. Nearly a year after she reported to the Performance Center, Hartwell was being given a prominent spot on NXT. Prior to that, Hartwell had been sparingly used and in an interview with Newshub, she had a chance to talk about the experience of working with the married couple.
Getting dubbed “Indi Wrestling” thanks to the Gargano Family Christmas, Hartwell revealed that she didn’t actually feel like she was good enough to have the spot the company put her in.
“It was really humbling to me that the company trusted me in that situation at this early stage of my career. Johnny and Candice are exceptional talents, and I can’t even quantify how much I am learning from them every day, and that’s not just in-ring stuff. They are both so well-rounded as performers, so my promo work has to be up to scratch to hang with them and that’s been a big focus for me. Honestly, I didn’t think I was good enough to be in a program with Johnny and Candice, but I am so happy with how the storyline is playing out and the best is yet to come for us.”
The group hasn’t just been serious as top heels in the company, but have flexed some comedic muscles, as evidenced by their reunion with Austin Theory following his kidnapping from Dexter Lumis.
