More Information On What Sammy Guevara Pitched To Impact Wrestling That They Rejected

When news started to pour out that Sammy Guevara and Impact Wrestling had plans to work together that totally fell apart, details slowly trickled out about it. First came the news Guevara had pitched his own ideas that eventually didn’t pan out. Then came the news today that the original idea that had been pitched was created by Chris Jericho and Don Callis. Now we know the idea that Guevara sent back after rejecting the initial idea pitched to him.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Guevara pitched the idea of winning the X-Division Title. His idea would be taking the title back to AEW and never losing the title, giving them a chance to set up a tournament to crown a new champion.

Guevara suggested winning the X title. One story is that he wanted to win the title, and then return to AEW as having just won the title in Impact. He’d never lose it and it would go up in a tournament. Impact didn’t like that idea.

Reports keep stating Impact officials were reportedly pretty upset at Guevara for reasons, and it definitely seems like he won’t be invited back. Whatever the company had planned for him, the idea eventually went to Black Taurus of Decay, so we’ll have to see how that turns out.
