Terry Funk Delivers Message To Kenny Omega And Jon Moxley Ahead Of AEW Revolution’s Death Match
This past Wednesday on AEW, Kenny Omega issued a challenge to Jon Moxley to face him in an exploding barbed wire deathmatch. The shocking challenge reminded many people of the glory days of the old Japanese promotion FMW. The glory days of the promotion featured some of the most violent matches in professional wrestling, and the promotion hosted the first ever exploding barbed wire match between Atsushi Onita and Tarzan Goto.
Someone very familiar with that stipulation and that promotion is Terry Funk. The Hardcore Legend was a mainstay of the promotion for many years and even competed in one himself. Many people talk about his no rope barbed wire exploding C4 deathmatch in 1995 to be crowned King of the Death Match against Cactus Jack as the greatest of all time.
Well the Funker has weighed in on the upcoming death match at AEW Revolution and he had nothing but positive things to say to Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley about the match. In fact, he’s pretty convinced this match could give Vince McMahon a swift wakeup call about how serious AEW is about competing against them. Taking to Twitter, his official account (which is run by a third party) delivered the message on social media.
