AEW Dark announced their card this week, and one match should get a lot of eyes on it.
Eddie Kingston will be on the weekly YouTube show where his opponent has been announced as JD Drake. It’s a huge match, as JD Drake is a veteran most known for his time in EVOLVE and its sister companies that made up WWN. He is a former WWN Champion who lost the belt in a unification match to Austin Theory, while he’s also a former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion with his partner Anthony Henry. Henry and Drake are also former Freelance Wrestling Tag Team Champions, a tandem known as the Workhorsemen.
Drake has also featured in matches against NXT talents like Curt Stallion and Jake Atlas, and has even appeared for several major promotions across the UK and the United States. Drake may be one of the biggest names EVOLVE had that WWE has not pursued following its purchase of the company, and it seems like the long time veteran has a chance to make a mark with AEW this week on Dark.
