The changing world of medical science has meant career ending injuries have not been as career ending as they used to be. In the last few years Edge and Daniel Bryan have been able to safely return to professional wrestling after injuries that were once thought to have ended their careers permanently.
Bryan and Edge had a chance to confront one another in a cordial interaction on SmackDown this week and Bryan suggested Edge choose him should he manage to win the Elimination Chamber and go on to defeat Roman Reigns at this Sunday’s pay per view. It was a strong moment for two men who once thought they’d never have this chance again. The WWE on Fox Twitter account was happy to point the moment out and captioned it “Retirement.” Obviously this was a reference to them both being able to come back. One currently retired Superstar with hopes to return one day noticed it as well and seems to be using it as motivation.
Paige Quote RTed the message with one of her own, showing she hopes to follow in their footsteps one day. With not just them, but Christian able to be medically cleared in the last year, it might just be a matter of time. All three stars needed several years before making a return so it may take a little bit, but it might not be out of the realm of possibility for her.
