Bobby Lashley Admits Angle With Lana Made Him Feel Awkward
WWE had a much maligned storyline last year when they had an angle with Lana, the now-AEW star Miro (the former Rusev), and Bobby Lashley. The love triangle seemed weird for everyone, mostly because none of it felt genuine. If you ask Bobby Lashley, it was a learning experience.
Lashley spoke with the Sporting News and talked about the experience with the storyline, and while he hadn’t liked the idea originally, he wound up putting over Lana for her commitment to the angle.
“It happened so quick. When I was introduced to it, I was told what to do and … (groans). I didn’t understand the magnitude of it. But the one thing I did know was that I was doing something different. And you can say whatever you want about Lana but she was 100 percent committed and invested in that character. I felt awkward doing it. I’m always in fight mode but it was good to pull me out of that mode. But I needed to relax and just have fun with it. I loosened up because I knew we were trying to entertain people. I understood that, even though I didn’t originally like the idea and ended up being cool with it. It’s not comfortable for me but I understood the lesson I was being taught.”
The angle that eventually involved Liv Morgan as well seemed to really not go well for almost all involved, but in the end, things worked out for people. Miro is thriving as the Best Man in AEW, Lashley is the United States Champion and CEO of the Hurt Business, Liv Morgan is back with her Riott Squad mate Ruby Riott, and Lana is being heavily featured on Raw as she avenges the bullying Nia Jax has been giving her for several months.
