Edge Wears Brodie Lee Tribute Shirt On Hockey Night In Canada
Hockey Night In Canada has been a Canadian institution since its television debut in 1952. Mostly known for its Saturday night programming, it’s become a tradition. And thanks to Edge, one of professional wrestling’s best known hockey fans is now immortalized on the show.
WWE Superstar Edge was featured in the opening of Hockey Night In Canada last night as the Montreal Canadiens took on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edge appeared in the opening. The 2021 Royal Rumble winner paid homage to the late Brodie Lee, also known as a huge Maple Leafs fan, by wearing one of the tribute shirts designed for the former Exalted One.
Edge took to Twitter to talk about it, revealing that not only was he happy to do the intro considering the meaning of it to a hockey fan and hearing the legendary Ron MacLean say his mother’s name, but the hint of what it meant to Brodie as well. And if you were a fan of the shirt Edge wore, you can find it here, with all proceeds going to Brodie’s family.
