Anna Jay Injured, Out 6-12 Months
Tonight marks the last half of the first round of the United States side of the Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament, along with the semifinals of the Japan side of the bracket. Unfortunately there’s a last minute change that is going to leave some fans, especially fans of the Dark Order, unhappy.
The AEW Twitter account revealed earlier today that Anna Jay has suffered a shoulder injury that is planning to keep her out of action for 6-12 months. It’s an unfortunate story that’s pulled her from the tournament. Scheduled to face Dr. Britt Baker in the first round, Jay has been replaced by Madi Wrenkowski.
Wrenkowski will be in action tonight against Baker on YouTube for their first round match. Wrenkowski has been recently featured on AEW Dark, but she’s also been the victim of some controversy after Big Swole called her out for ill advised tweets with racist undertones.
