Triple H says the WWE is open for business. Kenny Omega even believes Triple H when he says that. One person not so sure it’s true is Jon Moxley.
Moxley spoke with Inside the Ropes and he spoke about the possibility of a AEW and WWE partnership. Moxley was pretty blunt about his feelings, and that feeling is it’s not happening. He’s positive of it.
That would never happen. That’s not even worth wasting any mental energy to… You know. I mean, if you want to fantasy book some cool sh*t. You know, maybe you could fantasy book it for, like, fun magazine, stuff. You know, Like back in the day, in magazines, you used to always have, like, “Dream match. Bill Goldberg versus Steve Austin,” in ’98. But that ain’t gonna happen.
There’s optimism on the side of Omega possibly because he hasn’t directly worked with the WWE like Moxley has. However, having been there, he’s a little more cynical about the possibilities. While that doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t happen, Moxley is doing his best to temper expectations so no one is disappointed. In fairness, Moxley is probably right.
