Moose Talks About Holding The TNA Heavyweight Title
One of the most talked about angles in Impact Wrestling over the last year has been Moose arriving with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. While the belt is not officially sanctioned in the company now that it is considered Impact Wrestling, Moose has defended it like he was a champion. It’s created an interesting situation where most people realize he’s on an inevitable collision course with whoever the Impact Wrestling World Champion is, who is currently Rich Swann.
Moose talked about the storyline with The Angle Podcast where he revealed his thoughts on the angle and how much he knows about it. He also talked about what it means to be holding a title that some of the biggest stars the company has ever had.
“It means a lot. I remember when creative gave me the idea of bringing it back and it was an opportunity to take it and run with it and that’s exactly what I did. COVID ruined the original way we were supposed to bring it back, but we’ve still done a good job working it through COVID. I can’t tell you what we’re going to do, but I’ve heard great ideas from fans. Honestly I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m like you guys, I find out as it happens. They don’t tell us the long term plan with the fear of it getting leaked.”
Impact has been big on keeping things close to the chest in recent months, going as far as recording multiple endings to angles to make sure nothing gets leaked. It’s been one of the things the COVID-19 pandemic has afforded pro wrestling companies, in addition to making it harder to find spoilers. Whatever happens, Moose continues to be waving the flag of a part of the company’s history, and you can hear him talk more about it on the podcast below.
