In the time since Sammy Guevara turned down creative plans for a stint in Impact Wrestling, details have peeked out here and there since the news broke. We did learn early whatever was planned for him eventually went to Black Taurus, and many assumed that he was going to be participating in a new variation of Decay with Rosemary and Crazzy Steve. Taurus took part in plans with them, and many people assumed that would have been his role.
However, a new report from Fightful Select now reveals that wasn’t the case. While Taurus filled in for some of the plans they had for Guevara, it was not a choice for Guevara to join Decay with both companies denying that was a plan.
One source in IMPACT stated that they weren’t sure of the plans for Sammy outside of the idea that he’d wrestle Ace Austin at some point, but another with knowledge of the situation vehemently denied any plans for Sammy Guevara to a be a part of Decay.
Guevara seemed to avoid any heat and most people seem to feel Guevara dodged a bullet with some of the plans they had for him. Regardless, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing the Spanish God in Impact Wrestling.
