One of AEW’s fastest rising stars suffered a major setback when Anna Jay suffered a shoulder injury that looks to put her out for the next 6-12 months. While the news broke this week, it looks like the timetable started a while back according to a new report by Fightful Select.
While the news broke yesterday from AEW itself, the report from Fightful Select revealed AEW has known about the injury for about a month, which has already caused changes. It was said a match on Dark was changed due to her injury.
Fightful can confirm that the injury happened well over a month ago, and caused a change to the AEW Dark tapings back then.
While she was promoted for the tournament, they already knew about the injury and was hoping rest would be able to get her cleared to compete. Instead, #99 of the Dark Order and “The Star of the Show” will need surgery.
