Retribution Possibly On Track To Split Up
Last night on Raw, Mustafa Ali showed frustration with Retribution over another loss to The New Day. Ali was clear with his frustration and loudly vented at them while the masked quartet started looking equally angry and frustrated with him.
Retribution has struggled to gain traction since their arrival on the main roster, and most people haven’t bought into the faction at all. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer pondered how what we witnessed last night could spell the end of Retribution, or at least the beginning of the end.
“They may be done. They may be splitting that whole group up the way it looked tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s not like this group has caught fire or anything.”
Retribution has struggled from the start. From the fact that it took them weeks to figure out who to put in the faction and how fans have maligned everything about their presentation and names, the audience has struggled to connect with the faction. Now it seems we may have witnessed the beginning of the end for the group, which may lead to bigger and better things for all involved.
