Shayna Baszler Says Randy Orton Gave Her Advice After Fans Chanted “This Is Boring!” At Her

Shayna Baszler debuted last year on Raw and not everyone took to her immediately. In fact, when she arrived on the main roster fans chanted “This is boring” at her, something that can no doubt frustrate any in-ring performer.

Baszler talked a little about it on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast and revealed that after that incident, she got some helpful advice from Randy Orton, which she’s kept in mind.

“So, it has been this big learning curve, but I think feeling that comfort in what I am and not necessarily, and this is leaving out a bunch of Randy Orton being like, ‘Don’t worry about the fans saying it’s boring.’ AJ Styles giving advice and all these guys giving advice, but it’s been a hard balance and it’s something I’m struggling with because I have this old school style, but also I can’t necessarily do it the way they did it back then because it’s wrestling today, so it’s still a juggling process.”

Baszler has worked through a lot of the early criticisms and has turned into one of the company’s top female heels. After being one of the most dominant women in NXT, Baszler has now found success as a two time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.
