Apollo Crews took a shift in his character on SmackDown this week with his heel turn. Not just saying Crews wanted to embrace who he was, Crews talked more about his background. Revealing he comes from Nigerian royalty, Crews said he would now demand the respect he feels he deserved and how he has finally embraced who he is.
In fact, he’s so determined to embrace it that he posted on Twitter to say the very thing.
Crews is actually of Nigerian descent, as his parents are originally from there. His original ring name came from his real last name and what his coach called him, Uhaa Nation. Crews comes from a military background, as he went to a military high school and has a sister in the Army.
The heel turn has already started to reap benefits for him as he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura last night on SmackDown.
