Madi Wrenkowski Talks About How Being Genuine Gets You To The Top

Madi Wrenkowski has recently started to carve a niche for herself in AEW recently. Whether it was appearances on Dark or having recently replaced Anna Jay in the Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament, she’s found herself getting a growing spotlight in AEW.

Wrenkowski recently spoke to Dynamite Download podcast and talked about how she definitely wants to support other women as they try to get theirs in the business, but she’s realistic about knowing there’s only one spot and how she wants it as bad, if not more than others do. More importantly, she talks about how being real is what helps get you to the top.

“I feel like people have this misconception about wrestling. I’m so supportive of women getting the spotlight and I love that Thunder Rosa supports me and these girls are my traveling buddies right now. At the same time, I want that spot. I’m real about it and I don’t think a lot of girls are. Everyone wants to be best friends. We’re all fighting for that one spot. Everyone wants to kick Britt Baker off that ‘face of the division.’ Everyone wants to be at the top, why be fake about it? I made a tweet awhile ago. The people who have influenced reality, aside from the Kardashians, is Eddie Kingston and Enzo Amore. I think both have a genuine personality. When they speak, they are saying things that they mean and they bring you in. As stupid and ridiculous as the things Enzo says, you know he kinda means it. That’s what I admire most. He sat out there at 205 Live and berated every single member of that roster knowing what the consequences would be and could be. You gotta do that. If you put your foot in your mouth and you get yours, that’s fine too.”

Wrenkowski may have crossed a line with some of the “real” things she’s said on social media, but AEW has continued to give her a chance to shine and she may have more opportunities yet to come. Wrenkowski has been trained by stars such as Thunder Rosa, Jazz, and Funaki, so she definitely knows what it takes to be a star.
