Carlito Reveals How Instrumental The Hurt Business Was In Bringing Him Back To The WWE

Carlito made his return to the WWE at the Royal Rumble, and fans were shocked to see the former US Champion was still in great shape. During his time off, the Cool One was working the independent scene and even found a recurring role on the Netflix series GLOW based on the 80s women’s wrestling promotion. However, his return wouldn’t have been possible without the help of some old friends.

In an interview with Wrestling Inc., Carlito mentioned that members of the Hurt Business, namely Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin put in a word to Mark Carrano to call him about returning to the company, even if it was just for a couple of days.

“A couple of the boys have been talking backstage like MVP, Shelton [Benjamin], Bobby [Lashley], The Hurt Business guys have always been throwing my name around in the back,” Carlito revealed. “So I think they’re the ones that got the ball rolling, and then [Mark] Carrano ended up calling me and asked if I want to be in The Rumble. It was a good two days.”

It was good to see Carlito have friends pulling for him to get back into the WWE. Maybe if they want to go all the way in dominating Raw, they can get them to bring Carlito back on a full time basis to pursue the United States Title now in the hands of Riddle.
