Will NXT Have A Presence On WrestleMania 37?
WrestleMania 37 is scheduled to be a two-night event, which means the WWE has to make sure they have as many big matches a possible lined up for the event. Each night needs to have enough excitement to make it feel like WrestleMania, and it opens up the possibilities for new things to happen. Fans would love to see NXT involved in the two-day event, like they were last year.
WrestleMania 36 featured Charlotte Flair going after the NXT Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley in a successful effort, and it paved the way for fans to wonder if we may see more NXT at WrestleMania. After all, with the NXT Champion being Finn Balor and Io Shirai as one of the hottest stars on any brand, there’s reason to believe WWE would want to put them on there, especially on the outside chance the NXT team of Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. However, don’t hold your breath for it to happen.
WrestleTalk has reported that currently the WWE has no plans on including a defense of the NXT Championship or the Women’s Championship defended on The Grandest Stage of Them All. While it was reported at one point there had been talk about Balor defending the NXT Championship on the pay per view, it seems to be off the table right now.
While all of this could change between now and WrestleMania, this news also comes on the heels of Vince McMahon trying to lock down information after WrestleMania plans leaked out. Vince has been upset since certain plans leaked, causing spoilers to make it to the internet, such as how Miz’s match had leaked out in advance, causing fans to realize his title reign would not last long. So while plans could change and this is coming out following the report of leaks being plugged, the talk right now seems like NXT will be confined to TakeOver. Then again, with their rumored move following WrestleMania, it might be a great way to generate buzz for the move.
