WWE Had Planned Title Change At Elimination Chamber But Canceled It
WWE gave us a huge title change this past Monday on Raw when Bobby Lashley won the WWE Championship from The Miz. While most WrestleMania preludes usually see champs locked in well in advance, this year almost saw another title change that eventually ended up being nixed.
Fightful Select has reported the WWE originally had plans for Lacey Evans to win the Raw Women’s Title at Elimination Chamber, but obviously plans had to change when it was revealed Evans was pregnant in real life. The plan then would have been for Evans to continue the feud with Charlotte Flair on the road to WrestleMania.
Raw’s women’s division is in a strange place right now as not only is Evans pregnant, but Asuka is currently dealing with an injury. Charlotte Flair issued a challenge to Asuka for WrestleMania, so that may be the new plan, but we will have to wait and see how things unfold.
