Hard To Kill 2021 Scores Second Highest Buyrate In Seven Years For Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling put on Hard to Kill earlier this year, and it was one of the first pay per views of the era with their AEW partnership. The Good Brothers and Kenny Omega teamed up in the main event to meet Chris Sabin, Moose, and Rich Swann in the main event. It seems a main event like that definitely helped the company.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported the pay per view scored the company’s second highest pay per view rate since leaving Spike TV in 2014. While the number of buys was not quoted, the show was second only to July 2020’s Slammiversary event that they advertised as having former WWE stars appearing. The company sold fans on the idea former WWE talent that had been cut during the COVID-19 pandemic would arrive and they wound up bringing in Eric Young along with other talents to the company.

Impact is continuing to build momentum and it seems like AEW’s partnership will help as well as a revived partnershp with New Japan Pro Wrestling. We’ll see how things go as they start building for their next pay per view and look to capitalize on all the momentum from the buzz being generated around them now.
