Jordan Devlin is set to make his return to NXT this Wednesday, the Irish Ace has claimed to be the real the WWE Cruiser-weight champion after winning the title at a worlds Collide event back in January of last year.
An interim championship tournament was put in place when Jordan Devlin could not fly out to America to defend the title due to the travel restrictions last year caused by the global health crisis, Santos Escobar would go on to the win the tournament, becoming the interim champion.
Devlin was then suspended by the WWE due to allegations made against him during the speaking out movement so the WWE dropped the ‘interim’ from Santos Escobar’s Championship title.
Since Devlin’s return to NXT UK back in October last year, he has claimed to be the real Cruiserweight champion and that Santos is a fake champion. Devlin has also been defending the title on NXT UK against the likes of Amir Jordan, Ben Carter (Now Nathan Frazer) among others.
He has been currently embroiled in a rivalry with Trent Seven on NXT UK. Since then Trent Seven has been on a mission to make it down to the 205lb weight limit to challenge the champion, Seven is due to reveal his progress on WWE’s the Bump this Wednesday.
Will Devlin call out Santos Escobar on NXT tomorrow night? Could Trent Seven surprise everyone and interrupt Devlin calling out Escobar? Could this be leading to a title unification match at one of the two nights of Wrestlemainia in April?
