News On Impact Wrestling’s Plans For Kenny Omega
Impact Wrestling is planning a huge match at their Rebellion pay per view on April 25th when Kenny Omega meets Rich Swann for the Impact Wrestling World Title. Obviously a lot of attention is being paid to the match considering the ramifications that could see Omega as the top guy for two different promotions.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about this match and revealed Omega is not in Impact for a “one and done.” So while this doesn’t guarantee Omega will leave Rebellion as the champion of Impact, it does mean they have more plans for him and the partnership with All Elite Wrestling.
“There’s another big [Impact Wrestling] Kenny Omega match coming other than with Rich Swann, I mean there has to be another one because it’s not a ‘one and done’ for Omega in Impact. Omega is probably going to be working for other groups this year anyway.”
While the other groups have yet to be specified, it’s entirely possible the NWA could be involved with their partnership with AEW. It could also mean Omega has more appearances lined up for AAA, where he is also the current champion. 2021 should be an interesting year for Kenny Omega, so it remains to see if he winds up becoming a belt collector.
