Triple H Talks About Rob Gronkowski Returning To The WWE
Last year, WrestleMania found themselves with a celebrity guest in the form of then-retired NFL star Rob Gronkowski. The All-Pro tight end even won the 24/7 Title at the two night pay per view and looked to be heading to a full time gig with the company. Plans seemed to change when Tom Brady got traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Gronk went to join his long time teammate in Tampa Bay. Now with the WWE returning to the city for WrestleMania, it looks like Gronk may find his way to this year’s show.
Triple H spoke with the Pardon My Take podcast and revealed there were talks about bringing Gronk back to the WWE. While he didn’t exactly say it would happen at WrestleMania, it’s never out of the realm of possibility with this company.
“It’s a possibility. I know it’s been discussed. I’m of the opinion that as the first opportunity with Gronk was happening and we were meeting with him around the Super Bowl, you kind of don’t know what Gronk is going to do until Gronk does what he’s going to do. You can have a lot of conversations but until he actually shows up, I don’t know if it’s going to happen. There have been conversations around that. As always, there’s going to be a lot of celebrity influence.”
The WWE clearly has a lot of celebrity presence this year, as Bad Bunny and Logan Paul are scheduled for this year’s pay per view. Though the show has never been short of celebrity presence, one won’t know if we see the former 24/7 Champion at WrestleMania until this weekend.
