For years, fans have tossed around the idea of Finn Balor meeting The Undertaker.
The premise wrote itself in the form of The Demon meeting The Deadman. Fans clamored over the idea of what their respective entrances would look like. It was even said it was discussed as a possibility for a previous WrestleMania. However, according to The Prince, it seems it was more hyped up by the fans than the people making the decisions in the WWE.
Balor was asked about it on the What’s The Story? podcast, but revealed it never really came up in creative as far as he knows.
“It has been discussed, but more from a media standpoint, like a dream match that people want. I hear a lot about it from media sources asking me about it. I haven’t heard anything internally. That’s not to say the office hasn’t been pitching the idea. Maybe if it was two years ago, but nothing was ever concrete and no one ever came to me and said, ‘You’re going to be fighting The Undertaker.’ There’s always the possibility of anything can happen, but nothing was ever said and I was never officially told anything.”
A couple years ago when Balor was a member of the main roster, the likelihood of that match seemed more plausible. However, Undertaker seems to be enjoying retirement and Balor has Karrion Kross to prepare for at TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. For now, the dream match will have to remain just a dream.
