AEW Star Says He Has Reached Out To Stone Cold Steve Austin To Come Play Coach Role For Him
All Elite Wrestling has brought in a lot of legendary stars from the past to play pivotal roles for their stars of today and tomorrow. Using them in coach or manager roles, it has helped enhance the presentation of several of their top stars like Lance Archer, members of the Nightmare Family, and FTR. Now one one of AEW’s top prospects would love to see a WWE Hall of Famer come to AEW in a coaching role for him and his tag team partner.
Brian Pillman Jr. of the Varsity Blondes was on AEW Unrestricted and revealed he reached out to Stone Cold Steve Austin to come in as a mentor or coach style role for him and his tag team partner Griff Garrison. Pillman sounds like he has a strong idea for Austin and the duo and revealed his thoughts.
“I’ve attempted to reach out to Steve a couple of times. I haven’t heard back yet. My ultimate ploy is that he would be our coach. He would come out of the curtain in a tracksuit and a whistle. He’s making us do drills before the match like a Drill Sergeant. We would always be ready. We would always be warmed up. We would have a mean angry coach to rile us up and then we wouldn’t fail because we would know that if we lost the match, we were going to get reamed at. I think he would be a good motivator for us and he would help us get our act together.”
AEW seemingly has high hopes for Pillman and Garrison and while Austin hasn’t said much about Pillman’s request, you never know if Austin would eventually consider the request if the story was right.
