Edge Talks About The Possibility He And Christian Cage Will Ever Have Another Moment In The Ring Together

One of the most talked about moments in professional wrestling in 2021 remains the return of Christian at the Royal Rumble. Thanks to the return and how the moment was in the ring, many fans started buzzing over a reunion between Captain Charisma and the Rated R Superstar Edge. However, WWE failed to capitalize on the momentum of Christian’s return and didn’t lock him down to a deal.

Christian Cage eventually signed with AEW and has signed a multi year deal with them. While talking to Metro UK, his lifelong friend Edge was asked about the possibility of them ever sharing the same ring again in the future. Considering the two are contracted to two different companies at the moment, it doesn’t seem immediately likely, but Edge also thinks that the Royal Rumble may have been that one last moment for a variety of reasons.

“I would love to be able to, whether it’s as a team, or whether it’s a one on one match. It would be amazing. Especially with where we’re both at in terms of the way we approach the storytelling of a match now. I feel like we are really on the same page. Since I’ve watched his stuff, since he’s been back, I’m like ‘oh, my gosh, the stuff we would do now’. It would be so different, too.”

“I don’t know if it ever happens. I don’t know. I think possibly that ship has sailed, but we had that moment at the Royal Rumble, and you have to look at the things that you have, not the what-ifs, right? We got the moment. And we both got this thing back that we were told we would never have again. And now we both have an opportunity to try and tie this in a bow that we never got a chance to before.”

Edge and Christian have managed to return from career ending injuries and the duo have come a long way from being told their careers are over. However, Edge has at least a fairly decent reason to believe the duo may have had their last chance to finish their careers together. However, they are both living proof that you can never say never in pro wrestling, so only time will tell if the two will have one last moment together in the ring.
