Daniel Bryan Addresses His Work With WWE Creative
Daniel Bryan took a spot on the creative team over the last year in the WWE and many people were wondering how much pull he had in the wake. It was often said he was looking to help establish younger talent, and it seemed like Bryan was doing everything he could to put other stars over sometimes at the expense of himself.
Bryan talked about his work with WWE creative with Sporting News and said that while he did work with them, his role was never as big as some people thought and has actually diminished since the start of his push toward the Universal Title around Elimination Chamber.
“They liked my ideas and I think they liked that most of my ideas were not about getting myself over. It was always about making the show better. And then when the pandemic happened and my pregnant wife was literally due to deliver in a few weeks, I had to step back. They asked if I would like to participate in creative. My role isn’t that big, but they’d call and ask what I thought about certain stories. And now that role has diminished since before Elimination Chamber.”
Some people Bryan has talked highly of have seen a bigger emphasis on SmackDown since his work with them like Cesaro and Chad Gable. Big E is another person he’s spoken highly of, and he feels Big E could be pushed even more. While his role isn’t that big, it certainly seems he’s had some positive influence on WWE’s creative process for SmackDown.
