Daniel Bryan has become a member of the SmackDown creative team, but he knows he doesn’t get final say in things. If he did, there’s one person he’s openly admitted he’d push, and it’s Big E.
Bryan spoke with Sporting News and revealed his thoughts on Big E, putting him over in the interview. Big E is in the middle of his best singles run in the company, and while putting over all the things Big E can do peformance wise, Bryan admitted he’d make sure he’d put extra emphasis on the New Day member.
“He’s such a good talker, wrestler and so charismatic. He’s still in his early 30s, he looks the part, he can be funny or scary or everything in between. If I were in charge, he would have a bigger role. One of the things with wrestling is that you don’t know if somebody is going to succeed in the main event spot until you put them in the main event spot. You never know until they have that opportunity.”
Big E is on the verge of one of the biggest singles matches in his career as he defends his Intercontinental Championship against Apollo Crews in a Nigerian Drum Fight tonight at night two of WrestleMania. While it’s a bigger step from where he’s been in the past, Bryan thinks Big E is definitely up for more chances to have opportunities like this.
