More On Dabba-Kato Resurfacing At WrestleMania 37
Tonight at WrestleMania, the wrestler once called Dabba-Kato returned to the WWE and has seemingly been repackaged when he helped Apollo Crews win the Intercontinental Title from Big E.
Dabba-Kato, who started in the WWE system using his real first name of Babatunde as a ring name, made his main roster debut as part of the Raw Underground scene. He actually even had a match on Raw when he faced Braun Strowman in September. Since then, he has been off television despite being drafted to Raw during the 2020 WWE Draft.
Dabba-Kato was reportedly one of the talents sent to a special class in the PC to hone his skills that was specifically designed for big men. Other performers like Omos and Keith Lee were allegedly in the class, but he was never utilized on Raw after being drafted.
On April 7th, according to Heel By Nature, the WWE filed a trademark on the name “Commander Azeez” for all the usual uses they give ring names. Based on his appearance and timing, many are assuming this will be the name he is given going forward in the pairing with Crews. We will have to find out Friday on SmackDown.
