Raw Star A Last Minute Clear For WrestleMania Match Last Night
For weeks, Bad Bunny and The Miz were advertised to go one on one against one another. It all changed on the Raw before WrestleMania when it was formally made into a tag team match. While it was long rumored that would be the case, it was never made official until that night. Now we may know a little more reason why.
Dave Meltzer talked about the match on Wrestling Observer Radio and said that Damian Priest had been working with a bad back. He wound up saying it was “touch and go” for a bit about whether or not he would be able to work at WrestleMania, not getting cleared until the last minute.
“Priest has a bad back so that’s perhaps some of it. I guess the reason why they were talking about a singles match was because of Priest’s injury. I thought it was Morrison’s injury, but I guess it’s Priest’s injury. He was just cleared, I was told ‘last minute.’ I don’t know if ‘last minute’ means last week, but I was told it was touch and go. That’s what I was told today is that it was touch and go.”
The match wound up going off without a hitch and a lot of fans were impressed with Bad Bunny’s performance. It was a fun match that had the crowd on their feet and genuinely surprised with the performance of the Grammy winner. While it’s unknown what comes next, you never know if this could be the first of many appearances for Bad Bunny in the WWE.
