Title Match At WrestleMania Had Late Change To Finish
There had been some talk that the WWE had made several changes to finishes for WrestleMania matches very close to the days of the show, and now it seems like one of them has also come out. While the previous report definitely listed Randy Orton v. Bray Wyatt as one of them, it seems one of those changed results delivered a title change.
Fightful Select has reported there was a late change made to the match involving Riddle and Sheamus for the United States Title. Riddle had been originally booked to retain his title, but plans changed. It now seems like the move was made to continue a feud with Sheamus. However, Riddle wound up being squashed on Raw by Bobby Lashley and Sheamus had the night off.
Originally Riddle was supposed to retain his WWE United States Championship at the show, but it was adjusted in favor of continuing the feud with Sheamus, tentatively.
They may have had the night off, but with the next pay per view being WrestleMania Backlash it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the rematch set up for the show.
