AEW Gains Massive Ratings Boost Without NXT Opposite It
AEW had Wednesday night all to themselves after NXT started its new time slot on Tuesday. Spending a week hyping a big TNT Title match, a Tag Team Title match, and an appearance of Mike Tyson, things were poised for a big night. How did the ratings do?
Showbuzz Daily has reported AEW had an overnight of 1.219 million viewers, with a .44 in the 18-49 demographic. This is a massive jump on both ends from last week, which had 688,000 viewers and a .28 in the demographic. They wound up losing the viewership count to NXT which had night one of TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
AEW made some big jumps, along with NXT making moves of their own. With both shows having no direct competition, we will have to see if the shows can maintain momentum following these first episodes without the other going head to head.
