Person Behind Raw Announce Team Change Revealed
WWE made some big changes to the Raw announce team this week. The biggest one is the arrival of new head commentator Adnan Virk. The former ESPN anchor drew mixed reviews from fans, with many people nothing Virk’s lack of experience when it came to being the head announcer.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that WWE President Nick Khan is the one responsible for bringing in Virk to the company. While he seems to be learning pro wrestling on the fly, at least he has Corey Graves and Byron Saxton with him.
The move to Virk was spearheaded by Khan. Virk was clearly inexperienced in calling wrestling and didn’t add much. He came out at the start of the show and said that Saxton and Graves would be carrying him.
WWE isn’t afraid to pull the plug if they feel something isn’t working. The company did so when they pulled Vic Joseph from Raw and brought in Phillips. Changes are still being made, as Pat McAfee is joining the SmackDown commentary team starting tonight. However, they can’t go all the way back with Raw now that Samoa Joe is now released.
