Reason For Recently Released WWE Talent Was “Budget Cuts”
Yesterday, ten stars got an unfortunate call to tell them that their contracts with the WWE were being terminated. Now we have a little more knowledge as to what was told to them.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter John Laurinaitis was the one who called the talent, citing budget cuts as the reason they were being let go. Laurinaitis only recently returned to the company and is listed as the “General Manager of Talent.” This position seemingly works hand in hand with Mark Carrano, who is Head of Talent Relations.
John Laurinaitis was in charge of telling talent they were being let go, and saying it was due to budgetary reasons.
It has been reported the released superstars have a 90-day no compete clause, which means the earliest we may see these talents anywhere is July 14th.
Fans everywhere have also noted that in a year WWE is touting record profits, the WWE is cutting talent. However, it seems like that’s the reason given.
