Pat McAfee Will Have Lots Of Freedom On SmackDown Commentary
Last night, Pat McAfee made his debut on SmackDown as a commentator alongside Michael Cole. McAfee was praised by fans for his style and it left fans wondering if the WWE would start to overproduce and water down the style McAfee is best known for.
Sports Illustrated is reporting that fans won’t have to worry much. The company has plans to let Pat McAfee be himself to a great extent, as they understand what his personality brings to the table. They recognize they don’t want to over produce him and change up what made him so successful in the first place.
Though the world of wrestling, especially WWE, is always subject to change, the current plan is to let McAfee be himself on the air and avoid over-producing him. He will also continue to work on his other projects, including his podcast, while serving as one of the premier voices of SmackDown.
McAfee’s ability to talk has been what has made him so popular and successful with fans in the first place, so it’s probably a good idea to not micromanage how he handles things. McAfee seems like he’s off to a good start on commentary, so it should be interesting to watch his growth on the show.
