One of the major factors in the Monday Night Wars were talent switching sides. Often times, the switch wasn’t just for finding bigger and better opportunities, but finding a bigger paycheck.
While there’s no real war yet between AEW and the WWE with people jumping sides, it seems like many of the WWE’s biggest stars have no real interest in jumping ship. Roman Reigns is definitely one of those people who seems like even if AEW opens up new opportunities, he’s content to be where he is.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the appeal of AEW and why it has yet to draw any interest from someone like Roman Reigns. A major factor is Roman is making too much money in the WWE to even consider making the jump to AEW.
“Roman Reigns has never showed any interest in AEW because he’s happy with what he’s making. A lot of those top guys are making a lot, a lot of money in WWE.”
It’s said Reigns sees the WWE as an opportunity to make it to Hollywood after his wrestling career is done. While nothing is guaranteed, Reigns knows where he can be set up for success and the WWE seems to be the spot for him.
