Arn Anderson Reveals What He Thinks Was The Reason Fans Booed Roman Reigns As A Babyface
Roman Reigns may be enjoying the best run of his career right now with his heel push. The current Universal Champion looks more and more like an unstoppable monster, which wasn’t exactly far from how he was booked as a babyface.
Fans may love him in this role, but they couldn’t stand similar booking for him as a babyface for several years, with fans audibly booing him at times when he was supposed to be the top babyface in the company. During The ARN Show, Arn talked about Reigns as they discussed the WrestleMania 32 main event, which was Reigns against Triple H. Arn discussed Reigns’ babyface push, which he feels never clicked with fans because Roman was booked like a god.
“The fact that Roman goes out there and spears five guys does not make Roman more of a baby face. It makes him a God, and he’s not earning his position or push. He’s just out there running through guys and the audience smells it and they don’t like it.”
Anderson was a producer for several years in the WWE, so he was up close for a lot of Reigns’ years as a babyface. While not much has changed from his booking, fans now seem to be booing him for being a villain instead of being a forced babyface.
