While there were no real debuts on Raw the night after WrestleMania, there was a big return. Charlotte Flair returned from her few week absence and almost instantly got herself back into the picture for the Raw Women’s Title. Interfering in the Women’s Title match between Rhea Ripley and Asuka definitely added to the idea they were thrusting her back into the title picture.
Dave Meltzer talked about Flair’s booking on Wrestling Observer Radio, and while he’s sure Flair will be getting a title match, the booking of her this coming Monday against Asuka should be telling what kind of match we’re set to receive.
“If Charlotte Flair and Asuka ends in a non-finish then they’re probably going to do a three-way. If Charlotte Flair wins then we’ll probably get Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, so that’s not a [WrestleMania] rematch.”
Ripley will no doubt want to get her hands on Flair herself following last Monday, and it’s likely WWE will play up how Charlotte spoiled Ripley’s WrestleMania dream last year. However, The match involving Ripley and Charlotte may include Asuka to cement the “backlash” in WrestleMania Backlash. We will have to see how the match is booked on Monday.
