Trey Miguel made a big decision to remain part of Impact Wrestling after his Rascalz partners left for the WWE. Miguel has made no mistake in citing that he still has goals left to accomplish in Impact Wrestling, and one of them is the X-Division Title.
Miguel spoke with the Wrestling Perspective podcast about this and said that it’s the one belt that means more to him than anything in pro wrestling. Growing up and being such a fan of the wrestlers who held the title in the past, Miguel wants to etch his name into the history books and join them on that exclusive list.
“That’s a big part of my goal, the X-Division Championship, honestly, I feel like it kind of went unpaid off last year in my feud with Ace Austin. I felt like we had a lot of potential for growth and to get more out of where we were going, but I didn’t accomplish getting the X-Division Championship. All my favorite wrestlers have had the X-Division belt… The X-Division Championship means more to me than any other Championship in pro wrestling. I’m not going to become X-Division Champion in NXT, that’s just not going to happen. That’s not how it works. That physical Championship holds a place in my heart. I have to have that one day… I just want to see that through.”
Miguel will certainly have a lot of opportunity to do that in Impact Wrestling. He re-signed with the company and they seem intent on utilizing him to the best of his abilities. Miguel may be currently feuding with Sami Callihan in an angle that has temporarily derailed his chances to pursue the coveted X-Division Title, but he will no doubt get further opportunities to succeed.
