Cody Rhodes Says Turning Heel Right Now Would Make Him A “Fool”

Cody Rhodes slowly developed into a babyface following his rivalry with Kenny Omega, and since the start of AEW has developed into a top babyface in the company. This, of course, came on the heels of years of being a true antagonist in the WWE, the independent scene, and Ring of Honor.

Of course, with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks reverting to heels and showing a desire to reunite the Bullet Club members around them, fans are wondering if Rhodes wants to return to his own wicked ways. However, when a user on Twitter asked him, Rhodes revealed that it would be a very difficult move return to the dark side after all he’s done to build his fanbase the last few years.

Literally almost no chance my friend. After a decade of honing my skills at this, and the last 3 – 4 years of such a strong and growing connection with my fans…I’d be a fool to throw it away and swim upstream.

Rhodes has used his platform as one of the top babyfaces in AEW to mainstream success as a judge on TBS’ Go Big Show, a role in the upcoming Starz wrestling drama starring Stephen Amell, and a giant ad with his wife Brandi in Atlanta’s airport. Cody also has a reality show coming up with his wife, so a heel turn might not exactly be best for business right now. That isn’t to say Cody being a heel again isn’t a possibility. For now, he’ll play the role of protagonist in All Elite Wrestling.
