Damian Priest Was Worried He Would Get No Crowd Reaction At WrestleMania
Damian Priest experienced his first WrestleMania this year, and he had quite the spotlight on him thanks to his match. Teaming with Bad Bunny to take on The Miz and John Morrison, it was a victory for him and the pop star. However, given the star power of the match, he had a bit of a concern himself.
Priest spoke with SportsKeeda and revealed that he had some worries ahead of time, because he was concerned the live crowd would have no reaction for his arrival.
“I thought I was going to get no reaction… I thought I was gonna walk on the stage and not that they were going to boo, I just thought… you know, bathroom break or they just wouldn’t care. Just like, because I figured I hadn’t earned it yet. I just haven’t been here that long, as far as, being on Monday Night RAW. And I think people are still trying to get to know who I am. When I walked on the stage and I heard the roar, I was like, ‘Oh, they know who I am!’ (laughs) I was like, ‘They know me, this is so cool.’”
Priest is still a relatively new face on the main roster, so his worries were completely valid. Even if he’s performed in front of several live crowds before, this was a special one and considering this was the first live crowd the WWE has had since the start of the pandemic, there is no doubt Priest was happy to soak it in.
