For the majority of the week, WWE had been advertising a first time ever match between Randy Orton and Braun Strowman for Raw. However, instead of getting that match, we got Orton vs. Riddle and Braun was inserted into Drew McIntyre’s storyline and helped him out against Mace and T-Bar. So what happened?
PWInsider has reported that there was no real reason given why Vince McMahon pulled the match. When they showed up to the production meeting prior to Raw, the match had been changed with no explanation.
We have had a number of readers ask what happened to Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton, which had been advertised all week for Raw. We are told that when today’s production meeting began for Raw, the match had already been changed to Orton vs. Riddle without explanation and instead Braun was written into the Drew McIntyre storyline. So, it was a Vince McMahon call.
Both were still on Raw, and unfortunately it seems Randy Orton might have been injured in the new match he had. We are still awaiting confirmation on that. In the meantime, fans will still be waiting for that first time match.
