Samoa Joe Debunks Long Running Rumor About Alleged Injury That Hurt His Career In 2008

The Bound for Glory 2008 main event was one for the ages when Sting took on Samoa Joe for the TNA World Championship. The former Sears Center saw the main event go all around the arena, including an iconic dropkick from Samoa Joe to Sting while the two were in the crowd.

The dropkick has become a thing of urban legend as a rumor started that the dropkick, which ended with Joe landing on his tailbone when he hit the concrete, injured Joe’s tailbone that changed the course of Joe’s career. It’s been said the injury forced Joe to alter his style and may have taken years off of his career.

For the first time since that night, Joe has addressed that rumor and has wound up telling the world that it is…false. Joe took to Twitter and revealed that not only did he not suffer an injury, but what the spot was supposed to be and how he let the whole thing grow.
