Thunder Rosa Reveals She Contracted COVID-19 Earlier This Year

Earlier this year, Thunder Rosa had a highly anticipated match against Britt Baker rescheduled from night two of AEW’s New Year’s Smash shows. It had been revealed Thunder Rosa had been kept off the shows due to coming into contact with someone who had contracted COVID-19. Now, it seems that she may have wound up contracting it due to the contact.

She had a Q&A with Pro Wrestling Junkies, where she wound up revealing that she tested positive for COVID-19, but that hasn’t stopped her from being cautious.

“I traveled the whole pandemic. Unfortunately, I got COVID at the beginning of the year. I was able to go through it well and now I got my vaccine. I’m waiting to get the other one and I’m still being cautious.”

The rescheduled match eventually went Britt Baker’s way, but it was an afterthought following their incredible Unsanctioned Match on St. Patrick’s Day in the main event of that Dynamite. It also left them scoring the first ever Dynamite main event for the women’s division.
