Which Free Agents Should AEW Sign?
Last week, WWE announced the departure of several wrestlers a year after they did the same. Some interesting names were on the list of departure and AEW should consider making some offers.
Samoa Joe
The biggest free agent in pro-wrestling is Samoa Joe right now. Samoa Joe’s run in WWE was very disappointing , but joining AEW would be the fresh start he needs right now.
Samoa Joe would be a top talent in the promotion in no time. There’s a lot of interesting matches Joe could have on the AEW roster, if he chose to sign with them.
Samoa Joe has the pro-wrestling world in his hands and any promotion would be lucky to have him on their roster. Maybe we’ll see Joe back in IMPACT or Joe could be a surprise competitor on this year’s G1 Climax for NJPW.
Mickie James
Besides Samoa Joe, one of the biggest names released by WWE was Mickie James. The AEW women’s division has improved so much in the last year and adding a veteran like Mickie James would benefit the division even more.
Mickie James would not only work as a wrestler for AEW, but also as a coach and help even more their women’s division. She is a must-sign wrestler for AEW.
NWA could also be an interesting place for James to go and work with several interesting wrestlers like Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb (Current NWA women’s champion and AEW wrestler).
Other Names
There’s a lot of interesting names AEW could consider like:
- Chelsea Green: She could be a great addition for AEW, but most likely she’s returning to IMPACT.
- Kalisto: He’s a great worker, but AEW should try to bring Hijo del Vikingo to their programming or bringing more often Laredo Kid. He’s most likely to return to Mexico.
- IIconics: Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are an interesting act. They are very funny and charismatic, but unfortunately they are not the best in-ring workers. They should probably do a short indie run before joining any major promotion, but IMPACT is most likely to be the place for them.
